About – ITD Dentistry Practice Centre
The National Dental Examination Board of Canada (NDEB) has developed the National Dental Examination of Clinical Competence™ (NDECC) to assess the clinical competence of dentists trained in non-accredited programs. The NDECC is the final step of the Equivalency Process for Internationally Trained Dentists.
ITD Dentistry Practice Centre is your stop for Canadian Board equivalency preparation. Hand on practice and preparation for NDECC™ is our specialty.
The NDECC™ takes place over two days and comprises of the following two components.
– The Clinical Skills Component assesses an applicants clinical skills and techniques relevant to current Canadian standards.
– The Situational Judgment Component assesses the applicants judgment – the kind that is required for solving problems in a work related situation
A the ITD Dentistry Practice Centre students do all of the following:
- Review the NDECC™ Protocol and the Practical Guide
- Practice performing the 7 clinical exam requirements following infection control practices
- Practice the requirements for various teeth
- Have your work reviewed one-on-one with a qualified Instructor
- Practice and polish your skills using equipment and materials similar to those used during the exam
- Learn tips on working quickly, accurately and efficiently in clinic setting
- Increase the your speed in assessment and completing clinical requirements
- Review Situational Judgment Reference List and discuss situational judgment scenarios
- Have your written assessments reviewed one-on-one with a qualified Instructor
